Our race history:
DeWitt Crossroads Triathlon was 1st held in 2003.
Due to a leadership change, no event was held in 2015.
DeWitt Parks & Recreation took over race management in 2016.
No event was held in 2020 due to COVID-19.
2025 will be year #21! This will the 7th year for DeWitt Parks & Recreation.

TEAMS - can be made up of 2 or 3 individuals.
If you are registering as a team, the team Captain will create a team name, register all team members and pay for the entire cost of the team. EVERY ATHLETE MUST BE REGISTERED EVEN IF THEY ARE PART OF A TEAM Team Captain will need the following information from their teammates:

SWIM:
Time Trial Start begins at 8:00 a.m. sharp. Enter the water in pairs.
The course is an out-and back triangle, 500 yard swim in Lake Killdeer.
Boats and safety personnel will be on (and around) the lake during the swim.
Note - on race day, athletes can warm up in Lake Killdeer from approximately 7:15-7:45 AM.
Wetsuits
Article IV.4 – Each age group participant shall be permitted to wear a wetsuit without penalty up to and including a water temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wetsuit at their own discretion, provided, however that participants who wears a wetsuit within such temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Above 84 degrees, wetsuits are prohibited.

BIKE:
Our challenging 15 mile bike course will take you West on Old Highway 30, past Central DeWitt High School and then North on Humeston Road/290th Avenue, roughly 4 miles, and turn around. Riders will then turn left on Old Highway 30 and travel back to the Central DeWitt High School (T2 - Transition#2). You must walk your bike while in the transition area.
Helmets: Only helmets approved by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) may be used. Helmets must be worn at all times while on your bike. This means before, during, and after the event. Penalty: Disqualification
Drafting: Drafting--keep at least three bike lengths of clear space between you and the cyclist in front. If you move into the zone, you must pass within 15 seconds. Position--keep to the right-hand side of the lane of travel unless passing. Blocking--riding on the left side of the lane without passing anyone and interfering with other cyclists attempting to pass. Overtaken--once passed, you must immediately exit the draft zone from the rear, before attempting to pass again. Penalty: Variable time penalty
RUN:
The 5k (3.1 miles) run is hilly and was new in 2019. Participants will leave Central DeWitt High School and head East on old Highway 30 (245th Street) for 1.5 miles and then return. You will finish in the CDHS parking lot. Your run number (bib) MUST be worn on the front during the run.
Water will be available at Mile 1, Mile 2, Finish Line and post-race party.
AWARDS:
Awards: Awards will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. on race day! Awards are generously sponsored by Custom Pak.
Overall cash prize awarded to the Top Three Male and Female Finishers.
1st place - $250
2nd place - $150
3rd place - $100.
All athletes are eligible for the cash prizes.
Additional Awards: Top Three Finishers in each age group (13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+) as well as Top Three in Clydesdale and Athena Divisions.
Overall awards to the Top Three Male and Female Finishers.
Team Awards:Team awards are given to all members of the First Place team for the following categories: All Male, All Female, and Co-ed.

Late Entries: Late entries will be accepted if space permits. 200 maximum athletes for 2025.

Your age is as of December 31st, 2025. This will be the age group you will compete in on race day. Age is NOT determined by your age on race day.

Packet Pick Up #3 is on RACE DAY
If needed, you may pickup your race packet on race day at Lake Killdeer. Please show up between 6:00 – 7:00 AM. Show up early please!
Race organizers will not be able to ship packets (after the event) for participants who don't claim their packet.
